This week marks the 30th anniversary of Banned Books Week. Every year the American Library Association compiles lists of frequently challenged books—titles that were censored by libraries, schools, churches, and media outlets across the country. In 2011 there were still 326 challenges to books such as To Kill a Mockingbird, Brave New World, and The Hunger Games.
